Well after all that lot and only being up since 10pm there was no way I was going to sleep. Ladbrokes being a bit short on mtt participation at 5am i decided to try and win 50$ playing turb stt's - bankroll was 250 so thought i'd buy in to the breakfast club when I hit 300 - struggled for ages - got up to 285 but gave up when I went down to 235. lol.

Thought that there must me more to life than turbo stt's so I opened pokerstars and entered a 20$ freezout with 513 runners. Also entered a 20$ one on Mansion with 126 runners. AS per usual on there over half the runners were out after the first hour but with only ten paid I wasn't over confident of making the money - despite being about 18/50 just after the break. Made it though and ended up 4th for 158$ and a entry to any 100$ tourney on there.

As for stars - started well and got into the money no problem - was a bit low though - about 67/90

Things got worse and i was 52/52 but kept stealing blinds and luckily my all in steals with marginal hands weren't called - also won a couple of races but with 22 I was about 19th. Got to the final table third in chips but quickly lost some when QQ lost to KK and thought I was going out in ninth the next hand but whatever it was I had - tens maybe held up and I was back. One guy with a huge stack kept sucking out and down to 4 I was slightly ahead of the other two. Made it to second but had no chance - 6 to 1 out chipped but very happy with 2nd place for $1.385.11 - some of which will go to pay back my mystery staker and 140 to the cancer charity from the game I missed last night - i'm not especially generous but i'm a poker player so they caught me at the right time.

Celebrating the win now then going to sleep before the wsop league tonight - my turn to get some points this week.

Just trying to complete a hat trick of early morning ft's (bought into the Brakfast club) but with 30 left and me needing a quick double its not looking good.
It's been a sick couple of days really. Went out of the 10 rebuy last night when I was 30/50 when I slowplayed KK from UTG hoping to be raised. Low flop and of course the blinds hit two pair and I was gone. Was again doing well in the GY but bust out in 7th place - can't remember the hands but the new found aggressiveness which is getting me to all these fts let me down again.

Having sleeping problems so played a few small tourneys and crashed out at 10am - waking 12 hours later to find I had missed the early evening games including a charity one that looked like it was a laugh. Played the 25$ freeze to no avail. Satellited to the 75$ freezout for 20$ - 41 runners - 5 paid. I was getting lowish - 8 BB's with 14 left when I went all in from the button with 99. Was very happy to be called by 62 off until the flop came 66J. Muppet. Would have put me about 7/14 with a good chance of some cash.

10 rebuy was a nightmare. Played well and build a decent stack - was 5/36 at one point. Had 40k chips with blinds at 800/1600 when a guy raised from UTG and I called from BB with AQ. AJ8 on flop and he has only 8k chips but calls my all in and had hit his AJ. This left me with 25K and although I stole a few blinds people were playing very slowly and by the time we got to the bubble and were playing 7 handed the blinds were up to 3K very quickly. Short stacks kept sucking out and doubling up and before I knew it - this bubble lasted over 45 minutes - I had to push from SB with A4 and the BB's K6 hit and I was out on the bubble.

Graveyard wasn't too good either - well I played ok and found myself 11/20 when we got down to 2 tables. There were 13 left from 66 - I was in 9th but still 7 BB's but wanted to double before FT if I had a chance so went all in against the table bigstack with AQ suited. Sadly it didn't beat 66 and that was the end of the day with no cashes. Bankroll still at 250$ though so not panicking yet. I think i'm playing well so hopefully that will translate into a bit of cash.

Been a bit up and down lately. Saturday was a day off poker and our first gig of the year so after an evening's musical debauchery I got back pretty knackered on sunday afternoon. Played quite a few tourneys and got nowhere apart from a double your money 1750/20000 in the stars 100k but redeemed myself and my bankroll with a 7th place in the Gy which brought me level for the day.

Monday was a day off work so played a couple in the afternoon - again got nowhere but won 47$ for third place trying to sat to the 30k so the afternoon paid for itself.

PLayed the 5$ 2nd chance and 8$ rebuy - rebuy was crap but finished 14/380 odd in the 2nd chance for a measly 25$. really should have made FT but gave a few away trying to steal blinds and having odds to call with my K8 losing to A6.

2 other tournaments and 2 final tables but a bit disappointed as I should have made more of them. First up was the ten reby when I got an early chip lead after tripling up early with AA and held on to it until there were 30 odd left from 170 runners by which time i'd slipped to about 7TH. Made the FT about 6th in chips but with blinds getting high and playing 7 handed and needing a double I pushed from the cut off with A10 but didn't win my race against 66. 7th place for about 180$ from 20 invested but not quite good enough.

Got into the GY from a 3$ sat and having played well to reach the FT I went out in tenth. Shame because all stacks were pretty even apart from one and he was doubling people up left right and centre. All went wahoonie shaped when I got pocket tens and raised from mid position and got called by a calling station. Didn't like the flop - 3 clubs including an ace. Went all in thinking at least if he does have the A I had a high flush draw. He had AQ (Q clubs) and although the flush hit I was out in tenth for 40$

Not a great day so far - playing ok but no reward. Played the pp freeroll on laddies - over 1000 runners with 100 paid - crashed out about 120th after one of the worst beats for ages - i have 4 bbs left and call a min raise on my BB with K10. FLop AJQ giving me a straight - the chips go in and the guy with A3 hits turn A and river Q for a full house.

Bubbled in the forum game - 6/41 - damage was done when the eventual winner beat my QQ with AK. Busted out of ten rebuy about 65th from 270 when a guy called my 10 10 all in and hit with his AJ

Been a it of a turgid time lately - that 500 I deposited was quickly joined by another 200 as I can't seem to win a race. I'm not playing brilliantly but i'm still getting them in ahead but can't seem to win a race.

So anyway in between getting muffed left right and centre I played the first game of the WSOP league on Ladbrokes - a 14 week league where the winning team gets a seat at the WSOP main event. I crashed out around 180/450 odd but had an enjoyable evening watching the progress of my team mates - all very good players and to be honest I think i'm the weakest link in the team - which is good as i'm not that bad a mtt player. We (they) did very well with 45th, 82nd and 91st places. Horrendous beat too for the 82nd place when she raised with AQ from the button and the BB pushed back with Q9 to hit his 9 on the turn. :-(

Good performance and a good laugh though, and we still have a chance (dream on). Either way I will enjoy Thursday nights for the next 13 weeks.

Didn't enter much else today as I was following my team mates' progress but fortune favoured me when I won the 10$ quick blinds for 384$. I know this is hardly a test of poker skill but there is a bit of an art in knowing when to get them in ahead and pray not to get outdrawn and my patience paid off - went into FT 9/10 and picked my moments. Good booster to the bankroll anyway.

13/61 in the GY - people still seem to think it's a great idea to call all the way when drawing so I lost a lot of chips to muppets - ended up throwing them in with 77 and losing.

Can't complain though - got a fair bit of that deposit back so onwards and upwards - or at least try and stagger slightly forwards :-)

Gl all.

Lost the last bit of my laddies bankroll so deposited 500$ to see what I could do with it. Last night was pretty bad as I gotplenty of bad beats - QQ losing to QJ off in the 10 rebuy - guys catching gutshots in other tourneys - played badly in the GY though and in other tourneys. Can't win a race either.

Tonights tourneys not much better - heading towards last 20 of the 25 freezout when my A9 didn't hold up against J7. played the 110k gtd on mansion but hit trip eights and matey hit his straight on the river. Can't seem to win a race whatever I do. Even being outdrawn in stt's.

Monday, February 18, 2008

Just 3 tourneys tonight on laddies and the 100k 10$ on stars where I went out around 5500/20000.

Started ok on laddies - 6/74 in the 8 rebuy - 74$ return for 16$ outlay.
10 rebuy never got anywhere after AA lost to Q10 - still had chips but stack was always going the wrong way after that.
Bought in to the GY but went out before half an hour. Lost a few early and was left with about 1500 and loads of time when I limped from mid position with KQ - Q high board and matey hit his flush draw on the river - small bets after flop then he called my all in on the turn for 1000 chips and hit. Awful call but he had a huge chip lead for so early on that maybe it wasn't.

Well a day off is supposed to do wonders for your game and not having played on friday due to having a social life imposed upon me I was up for a good night. Slightly hungover though which probably doesn't help but that was soon remedied with a couple of beers and I was ready for an evening's muffing.

First 2 tourneys no good - 5$ 2nd chance and 8$ ltd rebuy on laddies - hung around as long as I could in both but was never in danger of reaching the business end of either of them. Same with the 2 horse tourneys - going to have to play better in those or find a new plan for the stars bankroll.

10 rebuy on laddies was going ok until I raised UTG with JJ and got one caller - rainbow flop of 5-2-Q. For some reason I'd convinced myself that he didn't have the Q and once again my world famous poker intuition was right - he didn't have the Q but he did have pocket twos which kind of buggered up my stack and I was out soon after in about 70th from 190 runners

Got into the GY for 10$ via the turbo sat. 67 runners and I got onto the FT after one of the longest bubbles ever with a shortish stack. Got them in with AK but it was no match for the BB's 58 off and he didn't really have the odds to call either so was a bit annoyed but never mind. Saved the bankroll a bit so now down to about 70$ on there.

Got my brother on MSN when he came in from the pub - he plays my mansion account sometimes as i'm usually too busy on stars and laddies and so far tonight he's turned the bankroll from 340 to around 640 playing high buy in turbo stts. Maybe I should have been drinking whatever he's on.

Friday, February 15, 2008

2 horse tourneys and played like a blindfolded idiot in both. One was 30$ and the other 10. Bankroll down to 170 so going to only play the 3$ tourneys from now on.

3 tourneys on ladbrokes - 5$ 2nd chance came 30/ 370ish for 19$. Can't remember how I went out. 10 rebuy - out about 30th.

GY - 7/55 for 100$

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

15$ horse tourney this afternoon but got nowhere. Same with a 6$ 45 player turbo also on stars. Played a 6$ freezout on laddies with 71 runners and came 8th for about 18$.

Just finished a 3$ horse tourney - came 12th out of 296 for a return of $11.10 which is ok but with 2 tables left I chased a hand on razz and although I wasn't far behind it was enough to cripple me. Really should have made FT. That hand made me tilt a bit in the ladies v gents tourney and I tried a bluff after missing the flop and went out 31/44. should have waited but with 12 min blinds it was heading for a crapshoot so never mind.

Entered the 30$ horse tourney but made a bad start - would be nice to cas as i'm using up all the winnings from the other day. Still got time to recover though so fingers crossed. Came back ok then out in 41st from 104 runners. Not having a good day.

10$ horse no good either - 42/180 odd - was doing ok but started chasing hands in the 2nd hour especially on HL stud. Still in the 10 rebuy though and got in the GY for 5$ so hope lies eternal.

Frustration in the 10 rebuy - ground my way to the money then went out 15/164 - still had 10 BBs when I got in a race with JJ v AK - a win would have virtually guaranteed me a place on the ft - wouldn't mind but the A came on the river when I was already celebrating.
36$ return for 20$ - puts me back to 90 odd dollars on laddies which is about where I started today.
Busted out of the GY instead of tripling up when my top pair got busted by 2 flush chasers so that was the end of that - had been up and down like a yoyo so not complaining. No more till tomorrow now.

Sorry to anyone who might be reading that this hasn't been particularly interesting lately - i've been too lazy/knackered to use it as anything other than somewhere to record results. Not going to win any prizes for the most interesting blog but at least it keeps me honest with myself about results etc.

Played 2 tourneys so far today - 30$ horse - came 56/95 but didn't hit many flops especially on omaha and the hands I went with elsewhere weren't quite good enough.

125/371 in the 5$ 2nd chance on Ladbrokes - best hand I saw was JJ which was muffed by 66 - stayed in for a while but ended up chancing it with 88 and losing to 99.
The night is still young so onwards and upwards.

PLayed a 12$ 45 player turbo on stars while waiting for other games to begin - 3rd hand I get AA - my 5xBB raise is called by 10 8 - who hits the ten - 8 - Q flop and knocks me out early. Load of bollocks.

10 rebuy on laddies was going fine - i'm about 40/90 with 20 paid and get AA on the button - cutoff raises 4X BB so I raise another 4 times that - he goes all in with 88 and hits his 8. Fine if he is short stacked or huge stacked but he was about level on chips with me - even if he puts me on AK he can't be wanting a race.

PLayed the 3$ horse tourney and played fine for over 2 hours and was mid stacked and with a very good chance of making the money until I got involved with A9 when I shouldn't have playing hold em and crashed out badly. Also played 10$ QB on ladbrokes and a omaha pot limit game on stars for 8$ all to no avail.

Following the 'fuck it there's nothing else to do' bankroll management technique I bought into the GY for 40$ but put in a pretty poor performance - limped in from the SB with Q8 suited - 10/1 pot odds so no problem with the call - flop comes 887 so my pot size bets are called by one guy who hit his flush on the river leaving me with just under half my starting stack after 30 mins play. Went out shortly after - again with Q8 suited as I was looking for a quick double and calling hoping to hit a flop. Got them in on a Q high flop and my kicker wasn't good enough so that was that for a pretty unsuccessful day and a quickly decreasing bankroll just under 100$

Monday, February 11, 2008

Way too tired to write much but just wanted to note down 7/437 in the 5$ 2nd chance for 110$. Not bad seeing as I was recovering from having a friend over from England and being out every night for 5 days - managed to lose a bit of the roll in that time mainly through playing while drunk.

Today (monday) has been ok. Went out of the afternoon ten rebuy when QQ ran into KK but won a small 8$ limited rebuy tourney - 1st from 31 players for 192$. Used 40 of that to play the 20 rebuy but when my KK lost to AK thought it was time to cut my losses. Came about 60th from 400 ish in the 3 rebuy - made one too many moves and got caught - raised from cutoff with J10 and had to call the all in for 2000 more for a 14000 pot - if i'd beaten 55 i'd probably still be in - as it was I made a move with 22 and lost.

Playing a HORSE tourney with 312 runners - 35 left and i'm in first place so hopefully can at least make FT.

Made FT and was huge chippy after picking off the shorter stacks shorthanded from 3 tables out - ended up first for 215$. First final table on stars so got to be happy. Played the next horse tourney for 10$ and came 21/200 for 17$ so not too unhappy with that performance - especially as I seem to be getting them in ahead - would have gone further but the damage was done playing stud when my tens were ahead against a pair of fours until the river.

Cashed in the ten rebuy on Laddies - 20/170 odd - only made a 10$ profit but played ok - lost a race at the end A9 v 66 when I needed a double. Just the GY to go and i'm currently 20/48 from 71 runners so hopefully something might happen. Hmm got bored and finished 15Th - made a stand with K8 in BB and lost to A9 - should have waited but i'm knackered.

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Hmm not a great day so far. Wasted about 120$ trying to satellite to the daddy tourney on Ladbrokes. Glad I withdrew some as I obviously can't be trusted with any sort of bankroll. Don't really mind about that - got to try these things and I was doing it with money that I won.

Bit pissed off about the 20 rebuy - got through the first hour without rebuying and was just under average stack when I found KK in the BB. One caller from mid position so when the SB limped in I bet out 4XBB - original caller calls and the SB folds. Low flop with 2 hearts on it - I bet the pot and he comes over the top - we are all in and he shows a flush draw with J10. He didn't hit the flush draw but with a 10 on the turn and another 10 on the river he got away with risking his tourney - he had only very slightly more chips than me and I was out instead of being right in the mix.

Not going to play until the big player point freeroll later - probably a waste of time as there's likely to be over 2000 runners with 135 places paid but unless you play cash games on ladbrokes there's nothing else you can use them for so might as well play it.

Busted out early with JJ on a low flop V aslow played AA - bloody cash players.

Played the ten rebuy on stars - no rebuy - and was just started to get into it when I busted out on the last hand of the 2nd hour - made a smallish raise with 33 and was called by the BB who checked the K high flop. He was either trapping me or missed the flop and hoping for the latter I shove them in. He had missed the flop but hit his flush draw on the river and I was out about 600th from 1700 odd.

Playing a 3$ horse tourney and the ten rebuy on laddies. Out midway through the HORSE - very tired and it showed as I was staying in pots too long without being sure I was ahead - pretty bad in limit games.

Ten rebuy was dull so just before the break I rebought and added on to give myself a reasonable stack for the start of the second hour. Built it up slowly and surely tyhen got pocket tens on the button. BB comes back all in and as has half my stack I go for a race. Was more like a race from the special olympics as he showed QQ which dented my stack. Started shoving them in with anything better than AJ or 88 upwards and as the blinds were relatively high and my stack just enough to put off loose callers I picked up a lot of blinds and was about 30/60 at one point. Then got moved table and was stuck between the 3 biggest stacks in the tourney - one to my right and 2 to my left so opportunities were limited. Picked up the odd pot here and there though and got to the cash (20 paid) with about 6BB'S left. Loosened up considerably after that - called with KQ suited UTG but had to fold to 2 raises. Then limped from the SB with 4 callers with KJ but missed the flop. This left me with about 4BBs and needing to double 2 or 3 times to have any chance of a stack at the FT. Shoved them in with 33 but the BB had AJ and that was that. 16/183 not bad but 30$ investment only got me 42 back. Better than a kick in the teeth with a moist eel.

Got into the GY for 20$ and heading to the end of the first hour there are only 34 left from 64 - i'm sitting 28th after missing every flop - JJ first hand and folded with KQ on flop after 2 callers to my 4xBB raise. Also had AA in the BB very early and all folded to it. :-( Still got time to find a hand though so fingers crossed.

Doubled up before the break and was about 15/30 going into what is always a tough second hour. Managed to steal in the right places and take pots when I had no cards.
With 12 left it was tough as usual - very difficult to act first in a pot but took my chances and although I was 8/10 going into the final table I still had 10 bb's so felt confident. One guy went out straight away then I found AQ in the BB. All fold to the SB who had been stealing all game. He turns over A5 and we're ok until the river where he hits his straight. Out in 9th from 64 runners for 76$. At least I got them in ahead and the bankroll could be looking worse after this afternoon's satellite shenanegins. Back up to 200$
Interesting evening so far on ladbrokes. didn't play anyting till the 25 freezout - had played a couple of sit and gos on stars but no luck and didn't fancy anything else on there.

25 freezout was a nightmare - everytime I got a few chips they were donked from me - prime example being a guy going all in UTG with 96 against my AK - I lost and also lost a race against 44 - both against lower stacks. Played most of the tourney low stacked - 23 left so we were 7 handed awaiting the final 2 tables and I attempted a steal from the cut off with A6 and failed to beat 99. 23/132 not a bad finish but outside the cash.

Played a satellite to the 100$ buy in 'daddy' crapshoot' and got in for 20$. With 3 minute blinds the crapshoot does exactly what it says on the tin and with 81 runners the chances of making the top ten are slim. Got some luck and some cards and got to the FT 3rd in chips but with blinds increasing that fast people drop like flies and with nothing at all playable even against lower stacks I drifted out in 6th. 526 dollars not a bad return from 20 though in no way can it be termed a game of skill.

Used some of my winnings to play a 75$ tourney - still in it. 40 runners with 5 paid but my stack has only gone downwards so far. Also playing the 10 rebuy so update in a bit.

Noting spectacular to report from either of those tourneys - came 11/40 in the 75. with 11 left we were short handed on 2 tables and you had to make a move at least every other round or get eaten by the blinds. Fluctuated between about 6 and 12 BB's and my luck ran out when I ran my pocket nines into KK.

Ten rebuy - was hovering around 10 bb's for ages but damaged my stack when I made a 3X BB raise from the button with A8 sooooooooooooted and the SB went all in - was only 2K more to call into about 13k so although I knew I was behind I think I had the odds to muff. Lost to KK and was left with bugger all chips. Hung around for a bit as I didn't even get a hand to bust out with and ended up out in 27th - not bad from 173 runners but no cash.

Just leaves the GY 40$ freezout - 58 runners tonight and aiming for a hat trick of final tables. Out in 32nd - nothing in the first hour and although I tried to win a few pots nothing I tried came off. Tried for a double early in the 2nd hour but my JJ lost to AK and it was game over.

Bugger. Just took 100$ to a cash table and lost it in one hand. Low flop and my tens ran into a set of sevens. That's why I never play cash. Ah well I guess it'll be a lesson to me next time I fancy playing cash. Withdrew 200$ though so i won't be tempted to do something stupid like buy into the daddy tomorrow. Bankroll back to 310 after the withdrawal.

Sunday, February 3, 2008

Not a bad start to sunday - won a 6$ 45 player sit and go on stars - boosts the bankroll to just over 200$ from that 150 deposit. Also won through to the 5k added 100$ rebuy tournament on Ladbrokes after spending 30$ on sats. I'll play it as a freezeout unless something out of the ordinary happens. Nice to have a shot at a decent prize though.

Was doing fine in the 100 rebuy - 120 left from 264 halfway into the second hour and i'm about 80th needing a double. Guy from mid position flat calls and it's folded round to me in the BB with AQ. I bet 1600 from about 4500 stack and he comes over the top all in. He's shorter stacked so costs me about 700 to call - he shows A10 suited and everything's fine until the river where he hits his 10. Leaves me with about 900 chips and with blinds 200/400 i'm SB the next hand where I shove them in with AK and fail to beat 88. :-(

Quite gutted coz I was playing ok and were it not for that 3 outer hitting i'd have been halfway up the field with it all to play for. Still in the 100k on stars but a long long way to go there with 20000 runners.

Finished 1825 out of 20000. YOu need luck in this tourney more than most and MY A10 was ahead against KJ until the river. I'd sucked out myself to still be in earlier on so no complaints. 20$ so doubled my money.

Played a 50$ 2nd chance on ladbrokes and came about 23rd from 106. Tried to make some moves while I still had 10 BB's but re raised the serial raiser when he had a hand and then tried another bluff and busted out. Still better than blinding out which I'm trying to do less often.

Playing every turbo/QB muff fest I can find on laddies and donking off a fair bit of the bankroll while doing so. Going to buy in to the graveyard though to see if I can get anywhere near a repeat performance from last night. Got a firend coming over from England on wednesday for a few days so might as well spend a bit enjoying myself now as I won't be able to play much after wednesday.

Came 6th from 117 in a 10$ quick blinds for 76$ and 1st from 15 in a 6$ QB for 45$ to recuperate some of the losses incurred from paying the 50$ entry into the 2nd chance and all the money I spent on sats - 30$ to the 100K and 20$ trying to get into the 75$ 2500gtd. Only 100$ down for the day now from an initial bankroll of about 300.

Spent about 20$ trying to sat to the GY before giving up and paying the buyin lol. Currently 4th from 24 left with 58 starters so will still be a winning day if i can finish 8th or above. Fingers crossed.

Tonight's GY was a very long tourney with some great play all round. Took about an hour to go from 18 to FT and about 40 mins for 10 to go down to 8. I was low stacked for a while but kept myself in it - doubled with tens v AK. Had some railing support/banter from a few forumites which is always a laugh but unfortunately my AK failed to hold up against the Dundee Aces (A5) and I was out in 8th for 100$.

Could have been so much better as I didn't once get them in behind but I guess that's the nature of the game and i've spent a whole day to break even. Then again it could have been a lot worse - i've been in with a chance in some big tourneys - 100k on stars was rivered same as 100k on laddies and only have myself to blame in the 50$ 2nd chance.

All in all it's pretty good to have a 300$ bankrol on laddies - poker's paying for itself at the moment and hopefully that will last although with the tendancy I have to play outside my bankroll probably not lol.

So goodnight and good luck to all who might be reading this. :-)

Saturday, February 2, 2008

Well last night's 1$ horse tourney basically involved me donking off all my chips while watching Coronation st - can't really say I attempted to play it to the best of my ability so not too worried about going out early.

Just played one tourney toda so far - 3$ horse - just finished 24/432 for $9.08 so must be doing something right. That's 4 cashes out of 8 tourneys now including the one I wasn't too bothered about so can't be bad.

Sick of Ladbrokes tables freezing so just played 1 stt on there which I bubbled.
Transferred 35$ to sports though which turned into 70 largely thanks to ipswich's 1st away win in ten months which I had 15$ on at 7/4

Off to the pub now but will prob play the horse tourney later.

Back from an empty pub complete with depressed bar owner due to lack of trade from the smoking ban. This guy is a non smoker but wants the right to allow people to smoke in his pub. Whole thing is a disgrace.
Played the 3$ HORSE tourney came 81/520 odd. Not bad but made some very silly plays mainly by staying in pots where I knew I was behind instead of cuting my losses. having said that I was only 9 places off the money and was unlucky at the end - got a few in on Omaha - any low pot would have made me some chips but a hig board meant I had to get out then when I got the last lot in only the river stopped me scooping the pot and probably a cash finish. Shame they don't do horse stt's.

Playing the 10$ rebuy on laddies - 251 runners but with 66 left I only have 7 BB's and need a double fast. Still - won a turbo sat to the graveyard for 5$ so hopefully I can do something in that.

Bugger. Thought my Ak was good to push with after a min raise from cutoff - would have been except he had AA :-(

Better do something in the GY otherwise my ladbrokes career may soon be over.

Well I did manage to do something in the GY for once - 2nd from 77 runners for 616$.
Seeing as it only cost me 5$ that's not a bad return. Doubled up very early on with KK - raised 4 x BB from UTG and got two callers. Flop was rainbow and low so I bet the pot and got one caller. Q on the turn so I bet out nearly all I have and get put all in - he shows AQ and that was me looking good early on. Didn't have many cards after that but kept my stack ok for an hour or so - at one point I was down to 16th from 29 left but I seem to have acquired the knack of winning pots without having the cards - seemed like I was betting in all the right places and of course folding when someone pushed back at me.

Crucial part of the game was with about 14 left when it became obvious that everyone was playing for the bubble (ten paid). There was also one player disconnected so people were waiting for him too. I was about 8/14 at this point and without seeing a flop moved up to 3rd place by pure aggression - something that I lack usually - maybe it's all the horse tourneys that have changed my out look on the game. funny hand occurred with eleven left - well funny for me but not for the guy who bubbled.

I was consistently raising the BB of the disco guy - it was obvious he wasn't coming back - if I thought there was a chance of that I would have slowed down - so when the guy to my left went all in when I had raised with J4 I had to call - blinds were 800/1600 and he'd gone all in for about 5400 - my initial raise having been about 3600 to steal I had to put in about 2000 into 9000. Unfortunately for him he had AK so I knocked him out on the bubble when a 4 came on the turn.

Final table was a matter of patience but stole a few pots - was third when I got to ft so was pretty easy to get to last 3. Got a lot of support from the night owls of the ladbrokes forum. Does feel good to know that people want you to win - just hope one of us gets to the WSOP one day :-)

Buggered up the heads up though. Other guy had taken out the 3rd place guy so was about 2/1 chippy. Lost the first few pots so decided to get aggressive with Q2. To be honest I was playing it blind - the idea was to make him fold and my pot size bet on the flop after he'd called my raise wasn't enough. Probably should have given it up there but made another big bet after the turn which he called and when the river came there was no way I was winning so had to fold. Either ran into a hand or a very good player so can't complain. Another time i might have made him fold and we'd have been back 50/50.

Cashed out 300$ - don't really need it as I just got paid but will do when i'm out of work in May - not that it will last till then. Cashed out mainly so that I am in profit on poker for the year. I think :-). Will have to check some day but think that puts me up a couple of hundred dollars - plus I still have a 300$ roll to play with.
6th HORSE tourney and my 3rd cash finish - came 21st from 504 runners in a 3$ tourney - only got $10.29 for my 3 and a half hours play but i'm enjoying it and it's better than donking off the bankroll in mtt's with thousands of players.

The only other game I played tonight was the Ladbrokes forum freezout - possibly the best structured tourney of the week with 15 minute blinds and 4000 starting stack. 29 people tonight who are all good players so any mistakes or bad play is jumped on straight away - basically you have to be on top of your game to get through it. Played the best I have for ages in the first hour taking pots not through having the cards but by betting at the right time and built a nice stack. People don't go out of this tourney easily though so it was a battle all the way. After Over 3 hours there were 6 of us left when my KK was busted by AQ - I was the low stack but not by a great amount so a double through would have put me right in there. VWP to all and the pleasing thing is I never once got my chips in behind.

Played a couple of stt's on laddies trying to build up a bankroll but when your KK raise gets called by K5 pre then he calls the all in on a 6 - 4 - 4 flop to hit runner runner straight it's time to think of a new plan for making money. Ladbrokes software keeps freezing on me which doesn't help things - the only site that does it. Shame because it's where I enjoy playing the most but if this carries on i'll be stopping.

Going to play the 1$ HORSE tourney now - will be up till tomorrow morning again if I have any success but got the weekend off and not planning to go anywhere so no worries there. Also unlike ladbrokes I can watch films etc while playing so going to catch up on Coronation street and various other stuff while playing thanks to a link a guy from a guy on the ladbrokes forum. Plus it's only a dollar so if I fall asleep/play shit/get too pissed it doesn't really matter.

Well after donking away all my bankrolls on stars and Ladbrokes coinciding with payday I deposited 100$ on Laddies and 150$ on stars. Better try and look after it this time.

Played the 5$ 2nd chance on Ladbrokes and came 27th out of 425 for $22. Got them in with AK on a A-8-8 flop after calling a raise preflop. Raiser turned over AJ and hit the J on the turn so instead of moving up to about 7th place I was out.

Just went out of the 10 rebuy as well - was doing ok after the break but QQ ran into AA then with 2000 chips left blinds 75/150 and i'm 101/107 I got them in with AQ v AJ v A9 - bigstack hit his J and that was it.

Very knackered after getting pissed last night so not going to play anything else. Hopefully i'll come back refreshed tomorrow and start building a fortune lol.

Well couldn't sleep as usual so played a 1$ horse tourney - pretty pleased with my play - managed to keep away from tricky situations and ended up 15th from 472!!! Only got $5:20 for it but thats my highest finish in any stars tournament and as thats only the 5th game of horse i've played i'm pretty chuffed.
